With a grand total of 51 confirmed bands and some of the biggest artists in rock history, Rock Fest Barcelona is officially finishing its bill for the 2018 edition, which will happen on July 5th, 6th and 7th at Parc de Can Zam in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. The spectacular Kiss, the great Scorpions, the ‘madman’ Ozzy Osbourne, the return of Judas Priest and Helloween’s reunion, among others, will be headlining the festival and now five more bands will be added to the festival as the countdown begins for the most awaited, special and historic edition of Rock Fest Barcelona in its five years of existence. A bill that will be absolutely unrepeatable.
They are as follows:
The finnish band is back at Rock Fest Barcelona with their traditional power metal in what is the end of cycle for the “Eternal” record and tour. The band is now preparing for a follow-up and celebrating three decades in metal.
Timo Kotipelto, one of the best european power metal vocalists and frontmen, will be joined by Jens Johansson, Lauri Porra, Matias Kupiainen and Rolf Pilve in making sure that Can Zam park sings some of the best choruses in the genre, such as “Hunting High and Low” or “Black Diamond”.
The canadian thrashers, led by Jeff Waters, are a sure bet. Throughout a 34 year career they have given birth to some of the greatest albums of the genre, such as “Alice in Hell”, “King of the Kill”, “Never NEverland” and “Set The World on Fire”. The band is back at Rock Fest Barcelona to show how the new songs from “For The Demented”· sound live.
SÔBER (with the BARCELONA ROCK ORCHESTRA)
What SÒBER have achieved with their symphonic record “La Sinfonía del Paradÿsso”, which serves as a 15 year celebration of their most iconic record “Paradÿsso”, is spectacular. The recent live experience has been so good that we at Rock Fest Barcelona didn’t want to miss the chance to share the moment with them. The band will play at the festival together with the Barcelona Rock Orchestra in a show that will be absolutely unique. Carlos and Jorge Escobedo, together with Antonio Bernardini and Manu Reyes, have changed the face of rock and metal in Spain and “Paradÿsso” will remind us why.
The recent spanish tour by INSOMNIUM showed that they are a band on the rise. The finns, with their melodic dearth metal full of sorrow and pain, have managed to secure a space in the scene with records so remarkable as “Winter’s Gate”.
THE LAST INTERNATIONALE
When your rock band has been saluted by Robert Plant, The Who or RATM’s Tom Morello, it may be because you’re doing something good. Politically fuelled high energy rock with lots of emotion is what THE LAST INTERNATIONALE will play on their Rock Fest Barcelona show. Coming from New York, Delila Paz and Edgey Pires will play songs from their two records to date, “We Will Reign” and “Soul on Fire” in a live show that some define as “an explosive energy ball”.
